The stunning Nobu Los Cabos blends Japanese contemporary minimalism with local touches that evoke the natural riches of Baja California, set on a quiet beach well away from the bustle of downtown Los Cabos. 200 rooms and suites are housed within low-rise whitewashed buildings, setamongst tranquil gardens planted with native cactus, agave and maguey. All rooms feature bathrooms with an open shower, double vanities and traditional Onsen teak soaking tub, plus amenities including a Nespresso machine, flatscreen TV, safe, mini bar and yoga mats. Depending on the room category you will have views of the hotel, desert, gardens or ocean; swim-up rooms have direct access to the main pool, and you can also opt for a room with your own private pool. The larger suites have a separate living area, and the showpiece Nobu Suite includes a large stone fireplace, open plan chef’s kitchen, games area and a private wraparound terrace with outdoor tub.

The sublime Nobu Los Cabos restaurant is inevitably the star attraction, set close to the seafront and serving Nobu’s signature Japanese fusion cuisine. Other options include the fresh organic farm-to-table fare of Malibu Farm, the atmospheric Ardea Steakhouse and Mexican fine dining at the Pacific Restaurant, where you can enjoy traditional taco and mezcal pairings. There is also a casual snack bar by the pool, coffees and pastries at the Nobu Café, and six bars including a swim-up pool bar, with a tempting menu of carefully crafted cocktails.

There are four pools including an inviting beachfront infinity pool, with plush poolside cabanas that can be reserved for an additional cost. Treatments at the spa are inspired by Asian wellness traditions, and the facilities include a sauna, steam room, salon, outdoor hydrotherapy garden and 13 treatment rooms. The fitness centre includes an indoor/outdoor area for yoga and spinning, there are classes in everything from Tabata to Pilates, and there is a running track that meanders around the resort. Golfers have the number one rated course in Mexico on their doorstep, the Davis Love III-designed Diamante: The Dunes, along with Tiger Woods’ Diamante: El Cardonal next door. The Kizzu kids’ club for children aged 4-12 yrs organises activities including kids’ yoga, arts and crafts, music, face painting and board games.
