The approach to this hotel is truly romantic: after the narrow cobbled streets of the historic centre of Sirmione, itself a tiny peninsula on Lake Garda, the road curves upwards and then through delightful parkland to the beautiful neoclassical Palace Hotel Villa Cortine. The interior of the historic villa with its fabulous cocktail bar is wonderful, housing precious marble, paintings, mosaics and frescoes. 

 

Attached to the villa is the main part of the hotel where the luxuriously decorated rooms and suites have a more contemporary feel. Most guest rooms have stunning views of the lake. In the grounds there is an outdoor pool (seasonally heated) plus a lovely private jetty jutting out into the lake, excellent panoramic views and a bar for delightful barbecue lunches. On a warm summer evening, a candlelit dinner on the terrace overlooking the twinkling lights around the lake provides the perfect end to a perfect day.
